A visit to a Cassava Bread bakery (if you can call it that) in the so-called "Capital of Cassava" in the village of Moncion, in the Dominican Republic. Hosted by none other than Mike, star of the award-winning webseries Rubberside Down.
Shot on a hand-held 550D, back when I had no idea how to use it. Still, not too shabby. Now of course I got Magic Lantern installed, use an H1 as my external microphone and do a fairly nifty job in editing and cinematography. Oh, how things have changed.
Say, does anyone actually read this? Or am I just talking to myself here? I mean, it is hidden most of the time. And it contains all the cool stuff. Kind of like the credits in a movie. Soon as the credits roll, they throw the lights on and everyone marches out of the theater. I hate that. I like to sit and wait for all the names to pass by. Maybe I'm just waiting for mine to appear. I dunno. It's all very meta if you think about it. But I'm rambling. I also had an Appletini. Not too bad, although the mix tasted a bit like apple-flavored bubble gum. And the vodka was almost frozen. Seriously? Frozen vodka? Well, a vodka-slushy. Still, this shouldn't happen. That's what I get for buying the cheap stuff. At least I don't buy much of it. These days, who can afford it? The way the economy is going down the drain, I feel sorry for anyone who actually has to work for a living. Oh, wait, what do I do? Right, I work for a living. Man, what a downer. Maybe I should just go on kickstarter and ask for support for the project "My Life: help me make it even cooler than the one I already got". 'Cause if you think about it, it's not that bad. I work for a living. I get to make youtube videos. And I got an Appletini. Did I mention that? I may have.
