One of the most successful of the 80s’ groups, the Thompson Twins began in the late 70s and went through a number of lineup changes before signing with UK Arista in 1882. Prior to Arista, they issued one album and a handful of singles but none charted.
Their first album for Arista, “Set”, reached #48 in the UK in 1982. Retitled “In The Name Of Love” for the US, the album reached #148 when released there.

“Here’s To Future Days” was their fourth album for Arista and reached #5 in the UK and #20 in the US. It spawned five singles in various world markets. “King For A Day” was one of these and charted at #8 in the US, #22 in the UK and #20 in Australia.

In 1985, the group comprised Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie and Joe Leeway.
