The Trials Of Life
Sir David Attenborough continues his study of animal behaviour in the third instalment of his award-winning Life series. Beginning with the ways in which animals arrive in the world and ending with the extraordinary techniques they employ to reproduce, the Trials of Life is one of the most comprehensive wildlife documentaries ever made. Taking some three and a half years to make, Attenborough travelled almost a quarter of a million miles to complete this fascinating and insightful documentary.

Natural World: Empire Of The Desert Ants
Against the Chiricahua Mountains of southern Arizona, Empire of the Desert Ants takes an in-your-face look at the violent world of desert honey ants by charting the fate of a single colony over several years as they battle all-comers for survival and dominance over the small patch of desert that is their world. Both the big picture and every minute detail are captured in this dramatic and fascinating film using the latest camera techniques and visual effects. Macro-photography shows the heart of their epic confrontations and the very core of life in the honey ant colony. Battle plans, defensive strategies and 'team' tactics are presented using the latest battlefield technologies. Also revealed are parallel worlds dominated by hidden forces - chemical weaponry, ultra-sonic sound, pheromones, ultra-violet and polarised light - as well as detailed characterisations of the different members of the colony.

Penguins: Spy In The Huddle
Discover what it really means to be a penguin as the latest spy cameras give us a whole new perspective on the behaviour and extreme survival tactics of these incredible and hugely charismatic birds. Following the success of Polar Bear - Spy on the Ice, the spy cams move to the next level with Penguincam, a range of super-realistic animatronic cameras disguised as penguins, chicks and eggs. Travelling to the freezing Antarctic to focus on the emperor penguins, and interspersing their stories with the very different experiences of the desert-based Humbolt in South America and the Falklands Islands-based rock-hopper, Penguin - Spy in the Huddle gives the inside track on all the drama and challenges they face throughout the year, as well as capturing plenty of comedy moments! The amazing technical wizardry of the penguincams allows them to blend into the penguin colonies, allowing a closer view of the creatures than ever before as they immerse themselves in the penguin world, both on land and at sea, where the camera's disguise leads to some surprising encounters - one penguin even falls in love with rockhoppercam!

Galapagos
The Galapágos Islands are a living laboratory - a geological conveyor belt that gives birth to, and sees the death of many species of plants and animals. Presented in a pioneering new visual style combined with exhilarating cinematography, this series examines the spectacular variety of wildlife and evokes the different characters of the islands. As the western islands rise up from the sea offering a chance of life, the eastern islands sink back beneath the waves guaranteeing only death. In the middle islands are fertile, lush lands containing an incredible diversity of life. Nowhere else on the Earth are the twin processes of creation and extinction of species so starkly apparent.
