This was supposed to be a short interview of the new Zhiyun Smooth 4, but Coco keep talking about this, and you'll see why. It's loaded with features most others are certainly going to copy. She didn't mention this but you can set any number of tracking control points and get automated focus and zoom, which is fantastic! Other features include manual exposure, focus, ISO, and white balance; 1/4" bottom mounting, filters, walking motor adjustment to take out that up and down so common to stabilizers, no touching the phone screen (everything controlled from the gimbal), on-screen gimbal and phone battery indicators, resolution control, flash control, HDR control, auto face detection and tracking, panorama, multiple exposure, long exposure, slow motion, time-lapse, motion time-lapse, controllable dolly zoom (vertigo effect), and more. The AMAZING thing is it is priced at $139 and available April 15th at Amazon and B&H - links below.

I hooked up with Jade at Saramonic who showed me the SR-VM1 XLR plug-on adapter for XLR microphones. It records directly to the unit and simply plugs into the back of a reporter mic, or even a shotgun mic allowing you to get rid of those XLR cables once and for all. There's also a transmitter which looks exactly the same but instead of a recording card, transmits the signal to their UWMIC9 receiver which is the same model used for their wireless lapel systems. I will be reviewing this unit soon, as I'd love to get rid of the XLR cables and the bulky recorder hanging off my camera. This unit is less than half the price of comparable Rode units, and these folks are just plain nice. They are available now and the links are below.
