Lyrics
She lives in a big white house
The rooms are lemon and she's devoted to life
of keeping this house just right, ooh, ooh
The weekends are perfectly nice ooh, ooh
And she doesn't talk when he comes home at night
Twenty five years she's just the same
She's a lonely woman, quiet in her ways
Then he comes home one night
She kills him with a knife
Now she's the one who's a living in paradise

(Sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
Oh don't cry for me
(sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
It's all alright for me

Now she sits in a big white chair
In a room that's not so different to the one back there
She turns her face to the light
But she is blinded by her life
You can hear her cry alone at night

(Sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
Oh don't cry for me
(sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
It's all alright for me

So have mercy on that woman you don't know the way it's been
You don't know the trouble her eyes have seen
Can you feel the kiss of life when you come home at night?
Well, you better not turn your back on a paradise
(Sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
Oh don't cry for me
(sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
It's all alright for me

Sister of mercy (Sister of mercy)
Sister of mercy oh, oh
Sister of mercy (Sister of mercy)
Sister of mercy oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

(Sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
Oh don't cry for me
(sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
It's all alright for me

(Sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
Oh don't cry for me
(sister of mercy) No sister of mercy
It's all alright for me

Into the Gap is the fourth album by the British pop group Thompson Twins. It was released in February 1984 and reached no.1 on the UK Albums Chart, and no.10 on the U.S. Billboard 200.

After the commercial success of Quick Step and Side Kick, the band worked once again with producer Alex Sadkin at his Compass Point studio in the Bahamas.
The first single to be released was "Hold Me Now", which reached the no. 4 position in the UK in November 1983. Four other tracks were released from the album in various countries around the world: "Doctor! Doctor!" (UK #3, US #11), "You Take Me Up" (UK #2, US #44), "Sister of Mercy" (UK #11), and "The Gap" (US #69). The first four of these singles all had music videos that were shot to promote them, and the Thompson Twins were a prominent fixture on MTV and other music video outlets of the era. "Doctor! Doctor!", "You Take Me Up" and "Sister of Mercy" were directed by Dieter 'Dee' Trattmann.
Into the Gap is the band's biggest-selling album, being certified double platinum in the UK and platinum in the US.

This song is not owned by me. No copyright infringement is intended.

The Thompson Twins had a number 9 UK hit with this single in 1983.

THOMPSON TWINS - Side Kicks, The Movie
13 love on your side

Multimillion selling pioneers of pop-dance music, the Thompson Twins are one of the definitive bands of the UK's 'post-romantic' musical era.

One of the most successful British bands of the mid eighties, the band set the benchmark for image/music fusion, establishing themselves as instantly recognisable both visually and orally. The trio, Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie and Joe Leeway, enjoyed international success and acclaim, scoring highly and regularly in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic and beyond.

The stuff of legend, Thompson Twins live shows encompassed the very best of music, dance and performance art. Side kicks: The Movie contains stunning live footage from a concert recorded exclusively to promote the release of their breakthrough album 'Quick Step and Side Kicks'.

We’re back to the year 1984 for this one. It came on the radio yesterday and I figured it was playable on piano - so here it is on solo piano with no drums or bass, so I had to keep the rhythm going. This is played in the original key of D major, and I’ve incorporated all the structure of the song in including the bridge and the added vocal during the final choruses. I hope you like it.

Lyrics:

Travelling in a fried-out Kombi
On a hippie trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said:

Do you come from a land down under
Where women glow and men plunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder
You better run, you better take cover."

Lyrics:

Who can it be knockingat my door?
Go away, don't come 'round here no more
Can't you see that it's late at night?
I'm very tired and I'm not feeling right
All I wish is to be alone
Stay away, don't you invade my home
Best off if you hang outside
Don't come in, I'll only run and hide

Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?"

Lyrics:

Jump down the shelters to get away
The boys are cocking up their guns
Tell us general, is it party time?
If it is, can we all come?

Don't think that we don't know
Don't think that we're not trying
Don't think we move too slow
It's no use after crying

Saying Overkill
Overkill
Overkill
Overkill"

Lyrics:

Dr. Heckyll works late at the laboratory
Where things are not as they seem
Dr. Heckyll wishes nothing more desperately
Than to fulfill all of his dreams
Letting loose with a scream in the dead of night
As he's breaking new ground
Trying his best to unlock all the secrets
But he's not sure what he's found
Dr. Heckyll is his own little guinea pig
'Cos they all think he's mad
Sets his sights on the search of a lifetime
And he's never, never sad

Whoa oh, it's off to work he goes
In the name of science and all its wonders....

This is the story of Dr. Heckyll and Mr. Jive
They are a person who feels good to be alive
This is the story of Dr. Heckyll and Mr. Jive
Believes the underdog will eventually survive
