Big and boisterous, Spotigy and Buri appear to be standard 1-year-old bulls. But a quick glance at their furry heads and closer examination of their genes would reveal that they're unique specimens—hornless Holsteins. The bulls are the result of a gene-editing experiment by Alison Van Eenennaam and colleagues at UC Davis, along with researchers at the biotech company Recombinetics, who aim to develop hornless cattle that might one day replace cows whose horns must be physical removed through expensive and painful methods. Van Eenennaam explains how the technique of "precision breeding" can be a faster and more effective means of de-horning cows compared to traditional breeding methods.

All you will need is A4 paper plain or colorful
A pair of scissors or cutter

Playlists :

Sound waves in a tube of gas create flames of different heights that dance to the music. A metal tube with holes in it is filled with gas. The gas is lit to create a row of tiny flames. A speaker at one end plays sound into the tube, which creates a standing wave of sound: areas where air molecules are vibrating rapidly separated by areas where the air is fairly still. This produces the different heights of flames and allows the wavelength of the sound wave to be estimated.

The hippo. A territorial beast that spends most of its time in water. An aquatic mammal that can't swim. A two-tonne hulk that can sprint faster than a human. And a seemingly placid oaf that guards its family with fierce cunning. Using specialist camera technology to get up close and personal with hippos for the very first time, this film follows these animals through the seasons in the Okavango Delta. It reveals that while hippos may be boisterous, aggressive and bold, they are also sensitive, sociable and often comical.
