Aprovechando que el Papa ha estado fuera de Roma, los alrededores de la plaza de San Pedro se han convertido en un espectacular set cinematográfico.
A la sombra de la cúpula podía verse un grupo de soldados nazis, coches de época, guardias suizos e incluso, un pequeño tanque.
Una fiel reconstrucción de cómo era este lugar durante los nueve meses en los que los nazis ocuparon Roma.
Se trata de la grabación de la película bajo el cielo de roma, una superproducción internacional que reconstruye el proyecto de Hitler de secuestrar al papa Pío XII.
El protagonista de la cinta es el actor James Cromwell. Este es el último día de grabación y como no ha podido venir lo sustituye un doble mucho más joven.
Los guardias suizos tienen la difícil misión de proteger al Papa. Tendrán que enfrentarse a unos malos de película, agentes de la Gestapo, que controlan los movimientos en la sutil frontera entre Italia y el Vaticano. Un lugar de paso al que acudían cientos de personas en busca de refugio.
Una historia apasionante que llegará a las pantallas el año que viene.
