The current crisis in Iraq explained in under 5 minutes.

There is war in Iraq? Again? And the US and Iran are talking about working together? And who is this ISIS Terrorist group that is all over the news? And Religion? Oh dear... When exactly has the world gone mad again?

It is not possible to explain a complicated topic like this without simplification. We are very aware that this video is not painting a full picture of the situation. But we hope that it may lay the foundation on which you can try to do your own research and understand how horribly Fu**ed up the whole situation is.

What happens when you decrease the pressure around a liquid? It boils. Water boils at room temperature once the pressure is low enough. What is interesting is that this decreases the temperature of the liquid. The fastest molecules escape, leaving the slower ones behind.
Using this trick with liquid nitrogen, it is possible to create solid nitrogen at a temperature of -210C. We then poured the solid and liquid nitrogen mixture onto a tray of water. The surface of the water became so cold that CO2 solidified out of the atmosphere on its surface. Then, since CO2 does not pass through the liquid phase at atmospheric pressure, it was propelled on the water surface by jets of gas as it sublimed.

Hay una serie de remedios populares que la gente cree que los protegen de las picaduras de mosquitos, como beber alcohol, comer ajo o tomar vitamina B. Estos no parecen proporcionar ningún beneficio en los estudios de laboratorio y, de hecho, beber alcohol se asocia con una mayor actividad de los mosquitos porque hace que los vasos sanguíneos cerca de la superficie de la piel se dilaten.

Y al parecer algunos de tus atractivos para los mosquitos son simplemente genéticos. Esto puede estar mediado a través de tu sistema inmunológico, que es con lo que muchos de los genes identificados estaban asociados.

¿Es realmente la llama un plasma? Bien, depende de la definición de plasma, pero de seguro hay iones en una llama. Estos iones se forman cuando las moléculas chocan entre sí a alta velocidad, a veces liberando los electrones de sus átomos.

Quisiera darle un agradecimiento especial al Palais de la Decouverte por ayudarme a realizar este experimento.
Usando decenas de miles de voltios en dos placas de metal, creamos un campo eléctrico muy fuerte alrededor de la llama. Esto atrajo iones positivos en una dirección e iones negativos en la otra dirección alargando la llama horizontalmente y haciendo que parpadee como una “mariposa”. Luego mostramos que a través de la llama se pueden producir chispas mucho más largas, que a través del aire, ya que los iones aumentan la conductividad.

El láser que se usa tiene una longitud de onda de 1064 nanómetros es decir que es radiación infrarroja, invisible para nuestros ojo.
Los ojos oscuros, la piel y el cabello contienen una molécula llamada melanina que absorbe una amplia gama de longitudes de onda de luz, especialmente en la parte ultravioleta del espectro, y crea un escudo ideal contra los rayos dañinos del sol. Es por esto que te bronceas cuando tomas sol.
Ese es tu cuerpo que produce y libera más melanina en la piel.
Pero la idea con la depilación láser es hacer que los cabellos oscuros absorban la luz laser sin que la piel alrededor absorba mucha energía.
Entonces, funciona mejor si tienes cabellos oscuros y piel clara.
