Utilizando mi intuición diaria, me pregunté: ¿veremos la "sombra" del agujero negro incluso si estamos mirando al borde del disco de acreción? La respuesta es sí, porque el agujero negro deforma el espacio-tiempo, por lo que incluso si normalmente no pudiéramos ver la parte posterior del disco de acreción, podemos hacerlo en este caso porque su luz está doblada hacia arriba y sobre el agujero negro. Del mismo modo, podemos ver la luz desde la parte inferior de la parte posterior del disco de acreción porque está doblada debajo de la parte inferior del agujero negro. Además, hay imágenes adicionales de la luz que dan media vuelta alrededor del agujero negro que conduce a los anillos internos.

¿Qué pasa con la “sombra" del agujero negro en sí? Bueno, inicialmente pensé que no podía ser una imagen del horizonte de eventos porque es mucho más grande (2.6 veces más grande).
