Rat The Gardener - Everyone thinks Rat is a brilliant gardener when they see a beautiful flower they think he has grown. They promise him so many honey cakes if he makes their gardens beautiful too that he doesn't tell them that it was the Bananas who grew it. Of course, gardening is hard work, so he tricks the Bananas into doing it all. But his cunning plan backfires.
Pedro's Cousin - Before Rat can do anything about his rival, Pancho tries to play a clever trick but outsmarts himself and ends up getting lost in the bush. Can the Bananas find him, and will Pancho stop playing his tricks on everyone?
The Banana Truck - It's Recycling Day in Cuddlestown. Lazy Rat gets rid of his junk by telling the Bananas it's a kit for a DIY truck. Imagine his surprise when they actually build one! Trouble is, he wants to drive it now, and Rat isn't a very good driver...
Rat the Banana - The Bananas help Rat put up a new set of shelves in his shop. But the shelves collapse and Rat's shop is suddenly a big mess. Now Rat has to find somewhere else to stay while his own place gets repaired. The Bananas suggest Rat stays with them – and he immediately accepts. Rat soon finds life at the Bananas' house is quite delightful, especially as the Bananas are happy to do anything he asks for. It's a dream come true. The Teddies begin to think that Rat will never go back to his own place, even after his shop is repaired. In fact, it looks like Rat will stay so long with the Bananas that they joke he might even turn into a Banana himself. That thought gives them an idea. What if Rat really did become a Banana!?

Fans of particle physics often encounter a series of doodles called Feynman diagrams. These mystifying scribbles were invented by Richard Feynman and they encode information on how particle physics collisions unfold. But they have an even deeper significance. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln gives you a peek into the deeper meaning of these important scientific pictograms.

Radioactive decay is the transmutation of one subatomic particle into another. In most instances, what happens is that existing particles move to new configurations. However in radioactive decays using the weak force, a particular kind of particle disappears and is replaced by a completely different particle. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln talks about how it all works and even describes a type of decay that has never been observed and, if it were observed, it would require the textbooks be rewritten.

In 1964, scientists discovered a faint radio hiss coming from the heavens and realized that the hiss wasn’t just noise. It was a message from eons ago; specifically the remnants of the primordial fireball, cooled to about 3 degrees above absolute zero. Subsequent research revealed that the radio hiss was the same in every direction. The temperature of the early universe was uniform to at better than a part in a hundred thousand.
And this was weird. According to the prevailing theory, the two sides of the universe have never been in contact. So how could two places that had never been in contact be so similar? One possible explanation was proposed in 1979. Called inflation, the theory required that early in the history of the universe, the universe expanded faster than the speed of light. Confused? Watch this video as Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln makes sense of this mind-bending idea.
Theoretical particle physics employs very difficult mathematics, so difficult in fact that it is impossible to solve the equations. In order to make progress, scientists employ a mathematical technique called perturbation theory. This method makes it possible to solve very difficult problems with very good precision. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln shows just how easy it is to understand this powerful technique.

Einstein’s special theory of relativity is notorious for being easy to misuse, with the result that sometimes result in claims of paradoxes. When one digs more carefully into the theory, you find that no such paradoxes actually exist. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln describes a commonly claimed time dilation paradox and shows how to resolve it.

Particle physics experiments employ high energy particle accelerators to make their measurements. However there are many kinds of particle accelerators with many interesting techniques. One important dichotomy is whether one takes a particle beam and have it hit a stationary target of atoms, or whether one takes two counter rotating beams of particles and smashes them together head on. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln explains the pros and cons of these two powerful methods of exploring the rules of the universe.
The PIP-II project (http://pip2.fnal.gov) is an upgrade of Fermilab’s particle accelerator complex and includes the construction of a 215-meter-long linear particle accelerator.
PIP-II will become the new heart of the Fermilab accelerator complex. Its high-intensity proton beams will provide a flexible platform for the long-term future of the Fermilab accelerator complex and the U.S. accelerator-based particle physics program. The upgrade will enable Fermilab’s accelerator complex to create the world’s most intense high-energy neutrino beams, which will power the Fermilab-hosted Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) and Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF). http://www.fnal.gov/dune

Science fiction sometimes borrows from science fact. In the movie “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” the writers blended multiverses and alternate realities with the real world Large Hadron Collider and the Compact Muon Solenoid. In this video, Fermilab’s Dr. Don Lincoln gives you the low-down on what is real and what is made up.

A new camera for the South Pole Telescope, called SPT-3G, will aid scientists in creating the deepest, most sensitive map yet of the cosmic microwave background, allowing them to peer more closely into the era of the universe just after the Big Bang.
Six days. Three frontiers. One amazing lab. From 2010 to 2012, a film crew followed a group of scientists at the Department of Energy's Fermilab and filmed them at work and at home. This 40-minute documentary shows the diversity of the people, research and work at Fermilab. Viewers catch a true behind-the-scenes look of the United States' premier particle physics laboratory while scientists explain why their research is important to them and the world.
Scientists included: Brendan Casey, Herman White, Craig Hogan, Denton Morris, Mary Convery, Bonnie Fleming, Deborah Harris, Dave Schmitz, Brenna Flaugher and Aron Soha.
Fermilab and Department of Energy officials broke ground on a new building that will house the Muon g-2 experiment. The new experiment will study the magnetic wobble of muons, and the core of the experiment—a 50-foot-wide electromagnet—will be transported this summer in one piece by barge and truck from Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York. The Muon g-2 experiment will be the first to use a new beam of muons from Fermilab's upgraded accelerator complex. A second experiment called Mu2e is also planned. Further information can be found at: http://muon-g-2.fnal.gov/
The experiments based at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland are undergoing a constant series of upgrades. Fermilab scientists Steve Nahn and Vivian O’Dell lead these upgrade efforts in the United States.
Particle physics research is both international and collaborative, with large national laboratories working together to most efficiently advance science. Joel Butler, Distinguished Scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory is the leader of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the CERN laboratory in Europe. In this video, Joel tells us a bit about what it’s like.
Accelerator operators found themselves stuck at Fermilab when a fierce snowstorm hit in February 2011. Cindy Joe tells the story of how Fermilab staff rallied through the night while they waited out the blizzard.
