Giovanni Battista Montini nació en Lombardía, Italia, el 26 de septiembre de 1897.
A los 22 años fue ordenado sacerdote. Durante 30 años sirvió en la Secretaría de Estado del Vaticano.
Fue Arzobispo de Milán y San Juan XXIII lo creó cardenal en el 15 de diciembre de 1958.
A los 61 años fue elegido Papa y tomó el nombre de Pablo VI.
Sucedó a San Juan XXIII y continuó el Concilio Vaticano II hasta su clausura.
Escribió 6 encíclicas y la más recordada es la Humanae Vitae, sobre la vida humana.
Fue el primer Papa en viajar a los 5 continentes. Sobrevivió a un intento de asesinato en Filipinas en 1970.
Estableció que los obispos debían presentar su renuncia al cumplir 75 años.
Decidió que solo los cardenales menores de 80 años pueden elegir al Papa.
Creó cardenales a Karol Wojtyla en 1967 y a Joseph Ratzinger en 1977.
Falleció el 6 de agosto de 1978 luego de un pontificado de 15 años.
Fue beatificado en 2014 y canonizado por el Papa Francisco el 13 de octubre de 2018.

El escritor y divulgador Álex Rovira explica en este vídeo la importancia de lo que en psicología se llama `la mirada apreciativa´, es decir, aquella forma de mirar que tiene la capacidad de transformar, empoderar a los demás y “darles alas”. Rovira insiste en la importancia de que esta mirada se aplique tanto en la escuela como en la familia. Parafraseando a Goethe, asegura “trata a un ser humano como es, y seguirá siendo lo que es; pero trátalo como puede llegar a ser, y se convertirá en lo que está destinado a ser”.

Álex Rovira reflexiona sobre cómo nuestra forma de ver a los demás puede condicionar sus posibilidades de crecimiento y realización; y nos anima a liberarnos tanto de falsas ideas negativas sobre nosotros mismos, como de falsos prejuicios sobre los demás.

El Papa Francisco recibió este jueves al actor y productor de cine estadounidense Leonardo Dicaprio, informó la Santa Sede.

Según recordó Radio Vaticana, el actor es conocido también por su labor a favor del cuidado del medioambiente. “Fue este reconocido compromiso en el campo de la protección ambiental que lo ha llevado a desear un encuentro, como el ocurrido esta mañana en el Vaticano, con el Papa Francisco, en quien Dicaprio reconoce una autoridad en la materia, en particular con la publicación de la Encíclica ‘Laudato si’”, indicó el medio vaticano.

Por su parte, la prensa internacional indicó que el actor estuvo hace algunos días en Roma para promocionar su última película por la que está nominado al Oscar como mejor actor,"The Revenant"; y después viajó a Davos (Suiza), donde se desarrolló el Foro Económico Mundial”.

Leonardo DiCaprio nació en el seno de una familia católica. Actualmente dice que no practica religión alguna pero tampoco se considera ateo.

El profesor Francisco Mora explica en el siguiente vídeo la importancia del cerebro humano en la enseñanza y la forma de aprender. “Está naciendo una nueva cultura, la cultura “neuro”, que significa que la esencia del ser humano, lo que aprende y memoriza, es producto del funcionamiento del cerebro. Intentar enseñar sin conocer cómo funciona el cerebro será algo así como diseñar un guante sin nunca antes haber visto una mano”, sostiene Mora.

El neuroeducador aporta herramientas y claves básicas para motivar a los estudiantes en el aula. “Hay que hablar menos de la atención y más de la motivación”, afirma. Y para ello propone el uso educativo de la curiosidad y el cambio en el formato de clases interminables. “Cada 10 o 15 minutos hay que romper el discurso en clase contando una anécdota o un chiste, porque hay episodios atencionales”, defiende.

Además, participa en conferencias y talleres por todo el mundo compartiendo su pasión por este “lenguaje de las ciencias". Sus labor investigadora se centra en el área del álgebra computacional a la que ha contribuido con numerosos artículos y colaboraciones con matemáticos españoles y europeos.

La gestión de las emociones, respetar y saber decir que no, son algunos de los principios fundamentales de las relaciones humanas según la doctora en psicología Clínica y de la Salud, Laura Rojas-Marcos. En el siguiente vídeo, la psicóloga reflexiona sobre la importancia de saber decir que no, y sentirse cómodo con ello. Laura Rojas-Marcos destaca la familia como la primera escuela y el entorno de convivencia ideal para aprender a manejar las emociones. “Convivir no es fácil, estamos hablando de cómo gestionamos los conflictos, nuestras emociones y cómo establecemos límites”.

A través de sus libros, entre los que destacan: ‘La familia’, ‘Somos cambio’, ’Hablar y aprender’, Rojas-Marcos nos brinda la oportunidad de observar diferentes aspectos de la condición humana: cómo favorecer una autoestima positiva, el impacto que tienen las relaciones familiares en el desarrollo emocional o qué es la asertividad y cómo podemos ayudar a nuestros hijos a que sean más asertivos. “Las personas asertivas saben lo que quieren, saben lo que piensan y se toman el tiempo para pensar, para decidir y para actuar", reflexiona. Laura Rojas-Marcos ha sido seleccionada entre las Top 100 Mujeres Líderes en España y colabora con instituciones dedicadas a diversos temas sociales y de salud mental.
