En entrevista a ACI Prensa, el Secretario General de la Conferencia Episcopal de Chile (CECh) y Obispo de Melipilla, Mons. Cristián Contreras Villarroel, se refirió al rol social del laico católico y afirmó que ciertamente “tiene que conocer la cultura que le toca vivir, no para adaptarse a esa cultura sino para impregnar esa cultura con los valores del Evangelio y con el anuncio de Jesucristo”.

Agregó que es importante lograr “una síntesis de fe y vida, una síntesis de la celebración litúrgica con el compromiso, con la vida moral y ética personal y también comunitaria”.

“No puede ser que nosotros separemos el aspecto, por ejemplo, de la vida cultual de lo que son mis negocios, mi vida familiar, de lo que es vivir los grandes valores humanos como por ejemplo la justicia, la honradez, la verdad, la veracidad, el trabajo por la justicia y la paz, etc.”, sostuvo.

El Secretario General de la CECh destacó la invitación del Papa Francisco “a ser una Iglesia en salida”, pero también animó a trabajar por ser “una Iglesia de la acogida, para que se produzca este encuentro de una Iglesia que sale a anunciar el Evangelio con aquellos que están saliendo de sus periferias existenciales, con tantas problemáticas que le aquejan y quieren en la Iglesia también un espacio de acogida”.

Defensa de la vida

Por otro lado, frente a la consulta respecto al protagonismo de los laicos en temas como la defensa de la vida, el obispo reiteró la postura de la Iglesia en contra del actual proyecto de despenalización del aborto en Chile y advirtió que “en todo esto hay motivaciones de orden económico, de grandes trasnacionales. Son estos neocolonialismos culturales que nos quieren imponer a los países del sur”.

“Estos no eran los temas prioritarios para el país, pero decir eso es muy impopular y eso puede restar votos”, agregó Mons. Contreras en relación a las distintas iniciativas legales que están contempladas en la agenda valórica del Gobierno de la Presidenta Bachelet y que atentan directamente contra la familia y la vida en Chile.

Frente a esto Mons. Contreras comentó que el 21 de noviembre de este año se realizará por segunda vez en Santiago de Chile la marcha “La Alegría de Ser Católico”, de la cual él es parte del equipo organizador, que movilizará a miles de católicos por la defensa de la vida desde su concepción hasta la muerte natural.

“Nosotros queremos jugarnos por el derecho del ser humano a nacer y también por los derechos de ese ser humano nacido, y eso implica acompañar a la persona en todo el trayecto de su existencia en esta vida”, señaló el Obispo.

Restless Year
This stunning film follows the changing landscape of England’s glorious Lake District. The mountains and lakes, forests and farmlands, estuaries and coasts of this area are home to a huge variety of animals. Timelapse photography shows how the landscape changes over a year, while stories follow individual animals like red squirrels gathering nuts, Herdwick sheep raising their young and grey seals gathering on the coastline.
