The game revolves around Po, a giant panda who dreams of becoming a great kung fu fighter. Unfortunately his weight and clumsiness makes this ambition seemingly unattainable. However, soon he finds himself going on a journey to save the land from an evil snow leopard named Tai Lung. But also joining the fray are the forces of the Great Gorilla, Tai Lung and the Wu Sisters' wolves, the Boar Gang, Imperial Golden Croc Gang and the Lang Shadow Army, bent on capturing the Jade Palace's treasures. Also, unlike the film, the Furious Five are captured by various gangs only to be saved by Po.

Cone Snails have an arsenal of tools and weapons under their pretty shells. These reef-dwelling hunters nab their prey in microseconds, then slowly eat them alive.

DEEP LOOK is a ultra-HD (4K) short video series created by KQED San Francisco and presented by PBS Digital Studios. See the unseen at the very edge of our visible world. Explore big scientific mysteries by going incredibly small.
New research shows that cone snails — ocean-dwelling mollusks known for their brightly colored shells — attack their prey faster than almost any member of the animal kingdom.
There are hundreds of species of these normally slow-moving hunters found in oceans across the world. They take down fish, worms and other snails using a hollow, harpoon-like tooth that acts like a spear and a hypodermic needle. When they impale their prey, cone snails inject a chemical cocktail that subdues their meal and gives them time to dine at their leisure.
Cone snails launch their harpoons so quickly that scientists were previously unable to capture the movement on camera, making it impossible to calculate just how speedy these snails are. Now, using super-high-speed video, researchers have filmed the full flight of the harpoon for the first time.
From start to finish, the harpoon’s flight takes less than 200 micro-seconds. That’s one five-thousandth of a second. It launches with an acceleration equivalent to a bullet fired from a pistol.
So how do these sedentary snails pull off such a high-octane feat? Hydrostatic pressure — the pressure from fluid — builds within the half of the snail’s proboscis closest to its body, locked behind a tight o-ring of muscle. When it comes time to strike, the muscle relaxes, and the venom-laced fluid punches into the harpoon’s bulbous base. This pressure launches the harpoon out into the snail’s unsuspecting prey.
As fast as the harpoon launches, it comes to an even more abrupt stop. The base of the harpoon gets caught at the end of the proboscis so the snail can reel in its meal.
The high-speed action doesn’t stop with the harpoon. Cone snail venom acts fast, subduing fish in as little as a few seconds. The venom is filled with unique molecules, broadly referred to as conotoxins.
The composition of cone snail venom varies from species to species, and even between individuals of the same species, creating a library of potential new drugs that researchers are eager to mine. In combination, these chemicals work together to rapidly paralyze a cone snail’s prey. Individually, some molecules from cone snail venom can provide non-opioid pain relief, and could potentially treat Parkinson’s disease or cancer.
--- Where do cone snails live?
There are 500 species of cone snails living in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, the Caribbean and Red Seas, and the Florida coast.
--- Can cone snails kill humans?
Most of them do not. Only eight of those 500 species, including the geography cone, have been known to kill humans.
--- Why are scientists interested in cone snails?
Cone snail venom is derived from thousands of small molecules call peptides that the snail makes under its shell. These peptides produce different effects on cells, which scientists hope to manipulate in the treatment of various diseases.

During the highest tides, California grunion stampede out of the ocean to mate on the beach. When the party's over, thousands of tiny eggs are left stranded up in the sand. How will their lost babies make it back to the sea?

With summer just around the corner, Southern California beaches are ready to welcome the yearly arrival of some very unique and amorous guests. That’s right, the grunion are running!
California grunion are fish that spend their lives in the ocean. But when the tides are at their highest during spring and summer, grunion make a trip up onto beaches to mate and lay eggs.
Grunion mate on beaches throughout southern California and down into into Mexico. The grunion runs have taken on a special importance to coastal communities Santa Barbara to San Diego.
For some, coming out to see the grunion run has been an annual tradition for generations. For others it’s a rare chance to catch ocean fish with their bare hands.
--- What are grunion?
California grunion are schooling fish similar to sardines that live in the Pacific Ocean that emerge from the sea to lay their eggs on the sand of beaches in Southern California and down the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. There are also smaller populations in Monterey Bay and San Francisco Bay. Another species, the Gulf Grunion lays their eggs in the northern shores of the Gulf of California. California Grunion are typically about six inches in length.
--- Why do grunion mate on land?
The ocean is full of predators who would like to gobble up a tasty fish egg. The grunion eggs tend to be safer up on the beach if they can make it there without raising the attention of predators like birds and raccoons. Grunion eggs have a tough outer layer that keeps them from drying out or being crushed by the sand.
--- When do California grunion run?
California grunion typically spawn from March to August. The fishing season is closed during the peak spawning times during May and June. See https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/fi....shing/ocean/grunion# for more detailed info on grunion seasons.

Great version of the beautiful song by Julio Iglesias Hey by the French French orchestra leader, composer and arranger of orchestral music Caravelli.
a little about him.
Caravelli, real name Claude Vasori (12 September 1930, Paris) is a French orchestra leader, composer and arranger of orchestral music.
The son of an Italian father and a French mother, Vasori was initially instructed in music by his mother in piano and voicing/harmony at seven years old, and later, when he was thirteen he began to attend the Paris Conservatoire.
At twenty he was professionally touring, accompanying singers on piano, and at 26 years old he started as orchestra conductor.
Vasori took his stage name in 1956 from the newly introduced twin-jet Caravelle from Caravelle Aerospatiale. This plane was the first jet created for the short-haul market. The first Caravelle entered service for Air France on May 9, 1959. He made it more Italianate in honor of his father's origins, changing the last letter: "CARAVELLI et son Violons Magiques/& his Magnificent Strings".
In 1959 with the help of the French jazz musician Ray Ventura, he obtained a contract to form his own orchestra oriented to popular music. He signed a contract with the French record label Versailles. His first album Dance Party was recorded. Under licenses these early recordings were released internationally (20th Century Records in USA, Ariel in Argentina, Fermata in Brasil and Discophon in Spain).
In 1962 he composed Et Satan conduit le bal original soundtrack under his real name, French film starred by young Catherine Deneuve. In 1963 he composed Accroche-toi Caroline! which was used by the BBC as the theme to the Vision On television series.
The Versailles label was acquired by Columbia Records in 1964. The wider distribution of their product led to gold records in France, Japan, Israel and South America. In Brazil his first released CBS album was titled Voyage Musical, in Argentina Merci Cherie. With his orchestra he also made recordings with Maurice Chevalier and Charles Trenet (La mer/Beyond the sea) among other singers. In 1970 he composed the music for the film L'Homme Qui Vient De La Nuit, starred by Ivan Rebroff, and in the same period recorded an album in USA. His first Japan Live Concert is recorded in 1972 by CBS.
In 1973 one of his own compositions was included in the Frank Sinatra album Old Blue Eyes is back: "Laisse moi le temps" / "Let me try again", original French lyrics by Michel Jourdan, English lyrics by Paul Anka. This song was previously presented in competition at the "Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar", Chile, by singer Romuald representing France and obtaining the 2nd prize (a Chile song was the winner), although it was considered the best song by critics and people. Making a delayed justice, a few years ago, it was proclaimed the Best Song in the history of this Festival, in its 41st Anniversary, something unusual for a non 1st prize in any song contest. This song was also covered by Raymond Lefevre.
In 1978 he composed and recorded the title song of "Goldorak et les 2 Mazingers", for the Japan anime/cartoon. In 1981 he toured the Soviet Union with his orchestra performing in Riga and Moscow with great success (all concerts were sold out). The summer of following year, he returned to the country, this time to make a record for the Melodiya label with Russians musicians and female singers (in his style without lyrics). This record Caravelli in Moscow includes 12 songs, the majority written by young pop Russian composers, with a couple of traditional tunes. Two of the pieces were recorded in Paris with his own orchestra. In 1983 Caravelli plays Seiko Matsuda was recorded in Japan.
In the middle 1980s in order to update his sound he used rhythm arrangements by his son Patrick Vasori (born c.1950) using musicians like Gilles Gambus and Serge Planchon, who also played keyboards with the orchestra. In November and December 2002 he recorded an album titled A new day has come" with his Grand Orchestre in Brussels, Belgium, for Readers's Digest.
Japan being a country in which he has a following, Caravelli is one of the few Western artists who have been invited to conduct of the Japanese TV Network's NHK Orchestra,[1] In November 2001 he was touring Japan with an orchestra composed of 32 musicians (tour N° 7 ), invited by the Sony Foundation (the previous tour was in 1996). At this time, Sony Music Japan assembled a 2CD set Caravelli plays Michel Polnareff and ABBA, being the first (Polnareff) a selection from '60 & '70 albums (including his cover of "Love me, please love me") and the second (ABBA) a selection from 70' recordings. In December 2003 he toured Japan again; the 6 concerts were sold out.
I fell in love with the female Bulgarian choir when I heard it for the first time in the video about the upcoming game called Alone in the Dark (2008). I thought it's African female choir, because it's high vocals sounded very exotic.
I was able to play the game after few years and then then I realised what kind of choir it was. And it was AMAZING! I love it since then! I also realised what is that airy vocal on the background in Freedom Fighters...
Few years after Thomas released Starvation that stunned me with it's amazing dark and exotic tone. It took me few (or even more) years to find the actual lyrics. I knew they have nothing to do with the starvation theme (Thomas used two songs performed by Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares), but now I realised they are also so edited they don't make sense at all. Well, it's still my favorite track by TSFH.
It's 2018 now and TSFH released even more music with Bulgarian choirs (Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares and Cosmic Voices) and soloists (Vladislava Vasileva and Elitsa Todorova), so I decided to create a compilation. Enjoy!
