Con esta reflexión, el pediatra Carlos Casabona señala los errores más extendidos sobre nutrición que influyen en las altas tasas de obesidad infantil. Destaca el papel que tienen las familias en la educación alimentaria de los niños y la importancia del ejemplo de los padres en la adquisición de hábitos de alimentación de los niños “Si tú comes fruta, tu hijo comerá fruta”, afirma.
El pediatra y divulgador Carlos Casabona se ha convertido en un referente en nutrición y prevención de la obesidad infantil, que es una de las asignaturas pendientes en la sociedad contemporánea. En su libro ‘Tú eliges lo que comes’ y en sus conferencias sobre pedagogía nutricional, Casabona aporta pautas y claves de la alimentación saludable, que solo se puede transmitir a través de la educación y el ejemplo.

Angélica Sátiro sostiene que la creatividad es una capacidad que todos tenemos dentro, y por tanto, que todos podemos desarrollar. Pedagoga entusiasta desde hace más de 30 años, investigadora incansable y experta internacional en creatividad; Angélica explica en este vídeo la importancia de desarrollar el pensamiento creativo en los niños desde su infancia. Para ello, propone algunas ejemplos prácticos que pueden aplicar tanto los docentes como las familias. Como seguidora del método pedagógico ‘Filosofía para niños’, es también una firme defensora de fomentar el pensamiento crítico en los niños desde edades muy tempranas, utilizando herramientas como el arte, los cuentos o la interacción con la naturaleza. Insiste en que a través de la formulación de preguntas abiertas, con múltiples posibilidades de respuesta, se consigue que los niños aprendan a pensar de forma autónoma. El objetivo es que sean creativos en su pensamiento y desarrollen su propio criterio.
Angélica Sátiro es doctora Cum Laude en Pedagogía por la Universidad de Barcelona, magíster en Creatividad Aplicada por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela y posgraduada en Pedagogía filosófica por la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (Brasil).

“La Comunicación No Violenta es todo aquello que hacemos o no hacemos, decimos o no decimos, que genera daño a la otra persona y hace que se sienta dolido y se aleje emocionalmente de nosotros”, explica la psicóloga y psicoterapeuta, que ha sido la única discípula española formada con Marshall Rosenberg en Estados Unidos y certificada por el Center for NonViolent Communication.
Pilar de la Torre, fundadora y directora del Instituto de Comunicación No Violenta, es también autora del libro ‘Fundamentos y prácticas de comunicación no violenta’, donde expone las pautas básicas para convertir desencuentros o conflictos en oportunidades de acercamiento y diálogo.

Sin embargo, se está produciendo un cambio muy radical en la calidad del aprendizaje informal". La tecnología permite que el aprendizaje de los seres humanos pueda ir más allá del colegio o la universidad, que puedan continuar con su aprendizaje después de esas etapas.

Viajamos a la Escuela Pública de Carcavelos de Lisboa para conocer de primera mano a los profesores y alumnos que están protagonizando esta revolución silenciosa de la educación portuguesa. Una escuela en la que está prohibido mandar deberes para casa. Una escuela en la que no se puede repetir hasta 3º de ESO para no fomentar la desmotivación. Y en la que las habilidades “blandas” ("soft skills”) como el trabajo en equipo o hablar en público cobran especial importancia ante el convencimiento de que la escuela puede cambiar la vida de las personas.

Journalist and teacher at Palo Alto High School (California, USA) for more than 30 years, Esther Wojcicki is considered a world pioneer in the study of media literacy applied to education. Since 1984, he has directed the most important program of media education in the US. Along with creativity, critical thinking and collaboration, Wojcicki focus on the importance of communication as one of the main skills that must be taught in schools to achieve more meaningful learning in the 21st century. Wojcicki is also a reference in the exploration of the relationship between education and technology. She is currently vice president of the worldwide Creative Commons licensing organization and president of the Friends of Lurdes Mutola Foundation for the promotion of girls' education in Mozambique. In addition, and among other positions, she is a consultant for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and collaborates in different media such as TIME magazine.

Carol Dweck is a lecturer in Psychology at Standford University and one of the main researchers and international referents in Education because of her pioneer ideas about mindset, motivation and development. Dweck is the creator of two concepts: fixed mindset, people who believe that intelligence is a born ability and it is unchangeable; and growth mindset, those who think that their skills can improve thanks to the instruction and effort.
In the following video, Dweck explains that it is of “vital importance that our children learn with a growth mindset in the current world where we need that children love challenges and uncertainty and that they do not feel overwhelmed”.
