Fracking is a controversial topic. On the one side the gas drilling companies, on the other citizen opposed to this drilling method. Politicians are also divided on the matter.
We try to take a neutral look on fracking. It is relevant for all of us, because of high prices for energy and the danger for our drinking water.
This video focuses mostly on the debate currently ongoing in europe. In a lot of european countries there is a public outcry against fracking, espacially in germany. But the facts in this video are relevant to all of us.

There is war in Iraq? Again? And the US and Iran are talking about working together? And who is this ISIS Terrorist group that is all over the news? And Religion? Oh dear... When exactly has the world gone mad again?
It is not possible to explain a complicated topic like this without simplification. We are very aware that this video is not painting a full picture of the situation. But we hope that it may lay the foundation on which you can try to do your own research and understand how horribly Fu**ed up the whole situation is.

En resumen, la luz ultravioleta interactúa de manera diferente con la materia por varias razones:
1. Algunos pigmentos absorben selectivamente los rayos UV, por lo que pueden aparecer blancos en lo visible pero oscuros en los rayos UV. Los pigmentos generalmente disipan la energía UV en forma de calor, aunque también puede ocurrir la ruptura de los enlaces.
2. Las moléculas fluorescentes absorben la luz UV y re-irradian esa energía como luz visible. Esto los hace lucir oscuros en la luz UV pero brillantes bajo la luz negra.

Cuando hice un video sobre las vitaminas, pensé que la historia se trataría principalmente de píldoras suplementarias, si deberíamos tomarlas o no y cómo se hacen. Pero lo que descubrí es que las vitaminas tienen una historia notable, que afecta muchos más aspectos de nuestras vidas. Por ejemplo, los vikingos necesitaban una fuente de vitamina D para sobrevivir los oscuros meses de invierno y para que sus hijos desarrollaran huesos fuertes y saludables, evitando el raquitismo.

Para hacer este video Mercedes-Benz me invitó a ir a Stuttgart para ver sus últimos autos, instalaciones de pruebas de choque y experimentar las innovaciones en las que están trabajando.
La física es algo que se aplica directamente a la seguridad de los autos. Los automóviles van rápido, pero a veces también chocan con obstáculos, lo que los detiene repentinamente, sometiendo al vehículo y a los ocupantes a aceleraciones muy altas, que pueden causar lesiones o la muerte. Entonces, la idea principal para mejorar la seguridad del automóvil es reducir estas aceleraciones y hay varias formas de hacerlo. Descúbrelas en este interesante video.

Hacer nitrógeno líquido es difícil; de hecho, hasta hace 150 años, los científicos dudaban de si era posible licuar el nitrógeno. En 1823, en la institución real de Londres, Michael Faraday produjo cloro líquido por primera vez, de forma accidental al someterlo a alta presión. De manera similar, licuó el amoníaco.
Tomando prestada una mezcla de Thilorier en Francia, una combinación de hielo seco, nieve y éter, alcanzó una temperatura de -110 ° C. Para 1845 usó esta mezcla más una bomba manual para presurizar gases para licuar todos los gases conocidos, excepto seis, que incluían oxígeno y nitrógeno. Estos se conocieron como los gases "permanentes".
Un físico francés, Aimé, comprimió oxígeno y nitrógeno en tanques y luego los bajó al océano a más de 1.6 km de profundidad, donde la presión llegó a 200 atmósferas. Aún así los gases no se licuaron.

Una uva cortada en dos partes y colocada en el microondas produce plasma. Pero ¿cómo funciona?
Una uva tiene el tamaño y el índice de refracción correctos para atrapar las microondas en su interior. Cuando colocamos dos (o dos mitades) juntas, los campos interactúan entre sí creando un máximo de energía electromagnética donde se tocan. Esto genera calor, chispas y plasma, que se alimenta con energía directamente de las microondas.

Entre otras razones por las que creíamos que no había agua era porque durante un día en la Luna la temperatura en la superficie puede llegar hasta los 123 °C, lo que sería suficiente para hervir cualquier agua si la Luna tuviese una atmósfera como la de la Tierra, la cual no tiene.

¿Por qué nos pican los mosquitos? Estas son las causas que sabemos que hacen que los mosquitos se sientan más atraídos por ti: ejercicio, mayor metabolismo, mayor temperatura corporal, más olor corporal, estar embarazada, sangre tipo 0, baños infrecuentes, ácido láctico, amoníaco, acetona.

Hay una serie de remedios populares que la gente cree que los protegen de las picaduras de mosquitos, como beber alcohol, comer ajo o tomar vitamina B. Estos no parecen proporcionar ningún beneficio en los estudios de laboratorio y, de hecho, beber alcohol se asocia con una mayor actividad de los mosquitos porque hace que los vasos sanguíneos cerca de la superficie de la piel se dilaten.
