Lyrics:

This is the heartbreak hotel
You said that you'd be here by nine
And said you took your time
You didn't think to call me boy
Here I sit trying not to cry
Asking myself why you do this to me

Since you're not around for me to tell you baby face to face
I'm writing you this letter, and this is what I have to say:
All I really wanted was some of your time
Instead you told me lies
When someone else was on your mind
What you do to me
Look what you did to me
I thought that you were someone who would do me right
Until you play with my emotions and you made mecry
What you do to me
Can't take what you did to me
Now I see that you been doing wrong
You played me all along.
And made a fool of me, baby
You got it all wrong to think that I wouldn't find out
That you were cheating on me.
How could youdo it to me?

Artist: Mela Tenenbaum (violin)

Pietro Locatelli was a fellow countryman and contemporary of Vivaldi’s. He was also both a composer and a virtuoso violinist. During his lifetime and long afterwards his works found their way all over Europe.

Some of his compositions make exceptional demands on the solo violinist. There is testimony of Locatelli playing them himself. But looking at the sheet music one wonders how. Especially the capriccii which the composer inserted in all outer movements of his 12 concertos for solo violin and orchestra opus 3, L’arte del violino.

Such a capriccio - literally “whim” - is a more or less independent, inserted showpiece for the soloist. It needs an interpreter who is not only technically more than capable, but who is able to approach the piece still as music as well. If Locatelli could perform these capriccii they must be playable without alterations or simplifications.

Violinist Mela Tenenbaum - originally from the Ukraine, now resident in the U.S.A. - set herself this very task: She recorded these concertos with several ensembles in a most convincing way proving that there is more to L’arte del violino than meets the ear. This release contains all 12 concertos of Locatelli’s Opus 3.

Lyrics:

Kick off my shoes and relax my feet
Hit the kitchen grab a bite to eat
It's been one of those crazy weeks
And I gotta do something special for me

See, hit the salon get a mani and a pedi
Have a massage, get a sip and then I'm ready
Gotta take time out
And my real ladies know what I'm talking about

[Sing] Oooooooh, baby baby
You don't know what I've been going through
Sing it again now. Oooooooh, baby baby
It's obvious to see exactly what I need

One of those days
When the sun is shining bright
And my life is going right
And the simple things are not wasted

Composer & Artist:
Composer: Christoph Nichelmann
Artist: Michele Benuzzi

About this Album:
When calling to mind harpsichord music of the Baroque period, the 24 Preludes and Fugues of J.S. Bach or the Pièces de clavecin by Couperin are perhaps the most immediately obvious choices. However, the music of Christoph Nichelmann (who is said to have studied with Bach) is equally inspired, and this release is the first step towards a more substantial recording of his oeuvre – indeed, it is the first recording solely dedicated to his output. One of a large number of composers whose music faded into obscurity after their death, Nichelmann is at last attracting the scholarly attention he deserves, largely thanks to today's vogue for discovering and promoting lesser-known repertoire.

This recording brings together the two sets of six sonatas from the middle of Nichelmann’s life, printed in 1745, and which represent the only two surviving collections of his music. The style of his compositions is intriguing and eclectic: on the one hand we can still hear the heritage of Baroque music, and on the other the development of a more sensitive and expressive language – although not quite the bridge to the Classicism which we hear in the music of Bach’s son, Carl Philipp Emanuel.

"Human Nature" is an R&B song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was written by Steve Porcaro and John Bettis, and produced by Quincy Jones for the singer's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). Initially, Porcaro had recorded a rough demo of the song on a cassette, which was then given to Jones. Enjoying the demo, Jones had the ballad included on the Thriller album. The song was the last selected for the album, ousting "Carousel" from the final track listing.

"Human Nature" was released on July 3, 1983, as the album's fifth single. Although not released in the UK, the song achieved moderate chart success in the US. Reaching number two on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary chart and number seven on the Hot 100, the song became Jackson's fifth Top 10 hit from Thriller. In New Zealand the single reached number 11. The ballad garnered many positive reviews from music critics. "Human Nature" has been covered and sampled by numerous artists, including Miles Davis, SWV, Nas, Jason Nevins and Boyz II Men.
