Hansel y Gretel (en alemán, Hänsel und Gretel) es un cuento de hadas alemán recogido por los hermanos Grimm.
En la colección de cuentos de los Hermanos Grimm, Hansel y Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) es el n.º 15.1 Corresponde al tipo 327-A de la clasificación de Aarne-Thompson: Hansel y Gretel.2
En algunas ediciones antiguas españolas, los nombres de los hermanos Hansel y Gretel se cambian por Pedro y Margarita.

Argumento del cuento de los Hermanos Grimm

Hansel y Gretel eran los hijos de un pobre leñador. Eran una familia tan pobre que una noche la madrastra convence al padre de abandonar a los niños en el bosque, dado que ya no tenían con qué alimentarlos. Hansel oyó esto, por lo que salió de su casa a buscar piedras, con las cuales marcó un camino al día siguiente cuando se dirigían al bosque.

Hansel y Gretel se durmieron, y apenas salió la Luna comenzaron a caminar siguiendo el camino que Hansel había marcado con las piedras anteriormente. Por la mañana llegaron a su casa. Su madrastra, sorprendida por el hecho decide que la próxima vez llevarán a los niños aún más adentro en el bosque, para que no puedan salir de allí y regresar.

Pinocho (en italiano Pinocchio) (en español Rucciano Rojas o Ferrari)es la marioneta de madera protagonista del libro "Las aventuras de Pinocho", escrito por Carlo Collodi, seudónimo de Carlo Lorenzini (Florencia 1826-1890), y publicado en un periódico italiano entre 1882 y 1883, con los títulos "Storia di un Burattino" ("Historia de un títere") y "Le avventure di Pinocchio" ("Las aventuras de Pinocho'"), libro ilustrado por Enrico Mazzanti.nota 1

Por la crueldad del relato, podría suponerse que Collodi no pensó en él como obra de literatura infantil, si bien resulta contradictorio que lo publicase en el "Giornali per i bambini".1
Los pasajes más discutidos han sido, quizá, el de la creación de la marioneta. Pinocho cobra vida mientras el carpintero Geppetto (diminutivo de Giuseppe, abuelo Gepeto en la versión castellana) lo está tallando en su taller. La trama está llena de escenas algo fuertes para los niños como una parte donde dos estafadores, el zorro y el gato, intentaron por todos los medios quitarle al niño sus monedas de oro, hasta que al final lo atrapan y deciden ahorcarlo en una gran encina ya que Pinocho se escondió las monedas en la boca. Las versiones posteriores han sido menos dramáticas, aunque no exentas del sadismo.
