Juan de Vicente Abad es orientador y profesor en el Instituto público IES Miguel Catalán de Coslada, Madrid. Ganador del Premio al Docente más Innovador de España en el Certamen D+I (2016), es uno de los grandes referentes en la aplicación de la metodología educativa conocida como Aprendizaje y Servicio Solidario (APS). Además es un experto en la resolución de conflictos, la convivencia escolar y la interculturalidad.
En este video, el docente nos explica qué es el Aprendizaje Servicio. Un método que conecta los conocimientos aprendidos por los alumnos en las aulas con la prestación de servicios solidarios para mejorar su comunidad. Un ejemplo es la organización de un maratón solidario para fomentar la donación de sangre que además sirva para explicar el sistema cardiovascular, y por ejemplo, también debatir las implicaciones éticas de una donación, etcétera.
“El Aprendizaje Servicio tiene repercusión en la sociedad, implica al entorno más cercano del centro educativo, instituciones, personas mayores o las ONG de la localidad que transmiten su conocimiento”, explica el orientador.

Creer que comer de todo es saludable, que el desayuno es la comida más importante del día o que añadiendo vitamina D y C a tu alimentación tendrás más salud son algunos de los mitos más extendidos entre la población. En el siguiente vídeo, el dietista-nutricionista Julio Basulto, afirma que la clave de una alimentación equilibrada no está en comer bien, sino en dejar de comer mal: “Los daños a la salud no se compensan tomándote soja germinada; es mejor que recuerdes que, tanto para tus hijos como para ti, la clave es alejar de tu día a día los productos malsanos, que piensas que son excepción pero que, en realidad, son norma”.
Basulto es editor de la Revista Española de Nutrición Humana y Dietética, también ejerce como docente en diversas instituciones y consultor en varios comités especializados. Además, es colaborador de múltiples medios y autor de numerosas publicaciones científicas y libros como ‘No más dieta’, ‘Mamá come sano’, o ‘Se me hace bola’, entre otros; donde aborda temas como la alimentación vegetariana, la obesidad infantil y la creciente preocupación por comer sano. Julio Basulto desmonta falsas creencias a través de una sólida base científica. Su principal objetivo es que comamos conscientemente. “No se trata de ‘imponer’, sino de incorporar dentro de casa un patrón de dieta sana para que nuestros hijos aprendan con el ejemplo”, concluye.

"Los niños deberían aprender canto, es el instrumento más emocional que existe", asegura José Manuel Zapata. En este vídeo, el tenor reflexiona sobre la influencia de la música en nuestras vidas y defiende la importancia de la educación musical desde edades muy tempranas. El músico granadino comparte sus experiencias durante más de veinte años sobre escenarios de todo el mundo.
Zapata ha pisado los principales teatros de ópera del mundo, desde el Teatro Real al Metropolitan de Nueva York, pero decidió cambiar el rumbo de su carrera para acercar la música clásica a todo el público. “La buena música es atemporal y no responde a clichés o catalogaciones estilísticas, simplemente es buena música”, asegura. ‘Tango mano a mano’, ‘Concierto para Zapata y Orquesta’ o ‘From Bach to Radiohead’, son algunos de los títulos de sus espectáculos. Montajes que tienen la música clásica como protagonista, pero desde un planteamiento poco habitual, liberada de los corsés y los tópicos que, según él, a menudo la envuelven.

Jane Goodall is considered one of the 20th Century’s most influential female scientists. Her eyes shine as she shares stories from her past, that become great life lessons about science and education for the present: "Be curious and make mistakes, be patient and do not give up," repeats this extraordinary woman.
Goodall had a dream during her early years: to travel from her native England to Africa to be close to the animals and write about them. In 1960, at the age of 23, the famous anthropologist Louis Leakey, entrusted her with the risky mission of traveling to the jungle in Gombe, Tanzania, becoming the first person to observe and investigate chimpanzees in the wild. Accompanied by her mother, she started a six-month research project. Today, almost 60 years later, she continues to develop thanks to the team of researchers at the Jane Goodall Institute, which is one of the longest lasting field research missions on animals in the wild. Her research revolutionized the scientific community and fascinated the whole world. Her perseverance, intuition, empathy and capacity for observation have not only allowed us to discover the unknown world of chimpanzees and other species, but also invite us to reflect upon ourselves, promoting a more sustainable lifestyle and building a fairer society.

Journalist and teacher at Palo Alto High School (California, USA) for more than 30 years, Esther Wojcicki is considered a world pioneer in the study of media literacy applied to education. Since 1984, he has directed the most important program of media education in the US. Along with creativity, critical thinking and collaboration, Wojcicki focus on the importance of communication as one of the main skills that must be taught in schools to achieve more meaningful learning in the 21st century. Wojcicki is also a reference in the exploration of the relationship between education and technology. She is currently vice president of the worldwide Creative Commons licensing organization and president of the Friends of Lurdes Mutola Foundation for the promotion of girls' education in Mozambique. In addition, and among other positions, she is a consultant for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and collaborates in different media such as TIME magazine.

Con 14 años escapó de la guerra en Siria, junto a su familia, rumbo a un campo refugiados en Jordania. A cuestas llevaba solo lo imprescindible para ella: sus libros escolares. Para Muzoon Almellehan, la educación significa esperanza y futuro. Durante los tres años que vivió en campos de refugiados luchó por concienciar a las familias acerca de la importancia de la educación. Ella no cuenta solo su historia, o la de los niños sirios, sino la de millones de niños del mundo que no tienen voz.
Su inspiradora historia, su valentía y su firme defensa de la educación han hecho que muchos se refieran a ella como la ‘Malala siria’. En 2017 se convirtió en la primera Embajadora de buena voluntad de UNICEF con estatus de refugiada. “Cuando negamos a los niños y a las niñas su derecho a la educación, les impedimos que tengan esperanza, que alcancen sus metas y que algún día puedan volver a sus países para reconstruirlos”, afirma.
