Intellectual property is so pervasive in today's world, we thought you ought to know a little bit about it. We're going to discuss the three major elements of IP: Copyright, Patents, and Trademarks.

Using the basic logic gates we discussed in episode 3 we can build a circuit that stores a single bit of information, and then through some clever scaling (and of course many new levels of abstraction) we’ll show you how we can construct the modern random-access memory, or RAM, found in our computers today. RAM is the working memory of a computer. It holds the information that is being executed by the computer and as such is a crucial component for a computer to operate. Next week we’ll use this RAM, and the ALU we made last episode, to help us construct our CPU - the heart of a computer.

In which John Green teaches you about the rise of the conservative movement in United States politics. So, the sixties are often remembered for the liberal changes that the decade brought to America, but lest you forget, Richard Nixon was elected to the presidency during the sixties. The conservative movement didn't start with Nixon though. Modern conservatism really entered mainstream consciousness during the 1964 presidential contest between incumbent president and Kennedy torch-bearer Lyndon B Johnson, and Republican senator Barry Goldwater. While Goldwater never had a shot in the election, he used the campaign to talk about all kinds of conservative ideas. At the same time, several varying groups, including libertarian conservatives and moral conservatives, began to work together. Goldwater's trailblazing and coalition building would pay off in 1968 when Richard Nixon was elected to the White House, and politics changed forever when Nixon resigned over the Watergate scandal. You'll also learn about the ERA, , EPA, OSHA, the NTSB, and several other acronyms and initialisms.

In which John Green teaches you about nonviolence and peace movements in the 20th century. What is nonviolence? What is a peace movement? Well. traditionally, humans often resort to violence when they come into conflict. In the 20th century, it became much more common for people to enact change by means of nonviolence, and there was a common thread of connection between many of the most notable advocates of peaceful change. Crash Course will take you from Gandhi to Gregg to Bayard Rustin to Martin Luther King, Jr, to the Cold War to Arab Spring along a path of nonviolent resistance and peaceful change. It's pretty great.

Today we’re going to talk about confidence intervals. Confidence intervals allow us to quantify our uncertainty, by allowing us to define a range of values for our predictions and assigning a likelihood that something falls within that range. And confidence intervals come up a lot like when you get delivery windows for packages, during elections when pollsters cite margin of errors, and we use them instinctively in everyday decisions. But confidence intervals also demonstrate the tradeoff of accuracy for precision - the greater our confidence, usually the less useful our range.

El hombre de jengibre | Cuentos infantiles en Español

El Hombre de Jengibre es un cuento infantil protagonizado por un Hombre de Jengibre, publicado por primera vez en mayo de 1875.

Argumento
En el cuento, una mujer hornea un hombre de pan de jengibre que salta de su horno y sale corriendo. La mujer y su esposo intentan darle caza, pero no logran atraparlo. Mientras huye de ellos, se va encontrando a distintos animales de granja que se lo quieren comer. El hombre de jengibre se burla de ellos con la frase:

¡He huido de la vieja y puedo huir de ti también!
Y los añade a esta cantinela a medida que consigue huir de ellos.

El cuento termina con un zorro que atrapa y se come al Hombre de Jengibre, que llora mientras es devorado.

En algunas narraciones, el Hombre de Jengibre se burla de sus perseguidores con:

¡Corre, corre, tan rápido como puedas! No puedes alcanzarme.
¡Soy el hombre de jengibre!,1​ o también en otra versión mientras huye va diciendo:
" Escapé de un viejecito, escapé de una viejecita, escapé de...... etc. Corre que correrás, yo soy de galleta y corro más".

Esta última frase es la más conocida.

Además, hay una versión poco conocida de El Hombre de Jengibre en el que el mencionado hombre de pan sigue la pista de un muchacho llamado Caleb Miller y lo golpea con un palo.

Las doce princesas bailarinas (Las princesas bailadoras o Los zapatos gastados de baile según algunas traducciones) es un cuento alemán publicado originalmente por los hermanos Grimm en 1812 en Kinder-und Hausmärchen como el cuento número 133 de su colección.

Charles Deulin muestra una versión francesa en su Contes du Roi Cambinus (1874), que él atribuye a la versión de Grimm. Alexander Afanasiev recogió una variante de Rusia, El Baile Secreto, en Narodnye skazki russkie.

Doce princesas, cada una más bella que la anterior, dormian en doce camas en la misma habitación. Todas las noches, sus puertas están firmemente bloqueadas. Pero por la mañana, se encontraron sus zapatos de baile tan gastados como si hubieran estado bailando toda la noche. El rey, perplejo, promete su reino y una de sus hijas a cualquier hombre que pueda descubrir el secreto de las doce princesas dentro de tres días y tres noches, pero los que fracasasen dentro del plazo antes señalado serían castigados con la muerte.

«El patito feo» (título original en danés: «Den grimme ælling») es un cuento clásico-contemporáneo escrito por Hans Christian Andersen sobre un patito particularmente más grande, torpe y feo que sus millonarios. El cuento fue publicado por primera vez el 11 de noviembre de 1843, y fue incluido en la colección de Nuevos cuentos (Nye eventyr) de Andersen en 1844.

La vida del patito empieza cuando un huevo de cisne llegó al nido de una pata que vivía en una granja del campo. Al nacer, resultó ser un patito muy feo; desproporcionado en tamaño con respecto a sus agraciados hermanitos, con un graznido muy fuerte, estridente y molesto. Era el hazmerreír de los otros animales que ahí vivían. El pobre patito no recibió más que picotazos, empujones y burlas. Incluso sus seis hermanos le maltrataban a veces diciéndole «¡Ojalá te pille el gato, grandulón!» y hasta su madre deseaba que estuviese lejos del corral. Era la oveja negra de la familia.
